Do you take long term bookings?
Yes, we have a self contained annex and stable conversion, both of which have kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom facilities. The rooms have TV and WIFI in the rooms. There are many businesses around the area and these facilities are always requested by many of our guests
Do you have facilities for business people?
Almost all of our guests are business people working in the area. Often they need to leave early for work in which case we lay out breakfast from around 6.15am. When they are working late our guests have their own key to access the house. All the rooms are accessed from a separate entrance and staircase at the rear of the house. All rooms have a good WIFI connection, and each room has a desk where a guest can work. All rooms also have a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a microwave/convection oven in the dining room if guests wish to heat their own meal in the evenings
There are excellent facilities for guests in the village where there is a CO-OP, 3 pubs which serve food, an Indian restaurant, and an excellent Farmhouse bakery who bake everything on site.
Do you have guest wifi?
We have excellent WIFI in each room.
Do you offer an early check-in?
At the time of booking all guests are asked at what time they plan to arrive so that we can ensure that we can be available to welcome them.
Do I have access to my room during the day?
Once guests have checked in they will be given their own keys for their room and the main door so that they can come and go when they need. All the rooms are accessed from a separate entrance and staircase at the rear of the house.
Are there locks on the bedroom doors?
Yes, all rooms have locks and guests will be provided keys for their bedroom and the main door on their arrival.
Do you accept pets?
I am afraid that we do not accept pets. We have this policy in case some guests have allergies
Is there a guest sitting room for the evenings?
Yes, there is a large sitting room where guests can relax and watch the TV, read, or work if they wish. There is a microwave/convection oven in the dining room if guests wish to heat their own meal in the evenings. WIFI is also available in the sitting room.
Where do you serve breakfast?
There is a dining room for the guests, where there is continental breakfast available (cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, a range of breads, croissant, muffins etc, and tea and coffee). A cooked breakfast is available on request at a small additional charge.
Is there a garden for guests to use?
There is a garden with with seating for our guests to enjoy
Are there shops within walking distance of the house?
There is a Co-op, 3 pubs which all serve food, an Indian restaurant, and an excellent Farmhouse bakery which bakes everything on site. All are within easy walking distance of the house.
Does the house have any interesting features?
The original house at the back was built in 1360, and the front was added in 1760. The house has a lot of character and many interesting features. Within the village there are also many lovely houses from around the same period. There is an attractive church at the end of the village. This can be reached by a pretty walk along a medieval causeway.
Can you cater for dietary needs?
If you let us know in advance we will always try and cater for guests who have special dietary requirements.
Do you have off street parking?
We have a drive way for guests to park their cars. The house is situated in a quiet cul de sac opposite the village green so there is very little traffic.
Is the house convenient for main roads, railway station and airports?
The house is located just off the A34, Milton Interchange. It is also situated within easy access to the M4 and M40, and within an hour of Heathrow. It takes an hour and a half to drive to Birmingham. Didcot Parkway Railway Station is situated only 2 miles away. This is on a direct line for London Paddington and the West country.
Are there taxis in the area?
The house is located close to Abingdon, Didcot, and Milton Park. Taxis are numerous and easily available. There are always taxis available at Didcot railway station to bring guests to the house.
