The village of Steventon dates from medieval times and contains a number of buildings of architectural interest, including several from the 14th and 15th centuries. In front of Home Farm House is the large Village Green, originally used by wool merchants to dry their fleeces after washing them in one of the many village streams.

Alongside Milton Lane in front of Home Farm House is the unique Medieval Causeway. This was built by local monks in the Middle Ages and runs the whole length of the village along its traditional East–West axis. The causeway ends near the church of St Michael & All Angels, built in the 14th century by the Flemings.
